At SoundVocab the values of Achievement, Assertiveness and Adventure underpin all interactions and relationships to ensure that everyone is treated fairly and with respect.
The motivational language that I use is to support the values which highlights the core principles of being Ready, Respectful and Safe. My guided speaking sets the standards and practices that I believe will remain inclusive and of high quality for my students learning journey.
SoundVocab recognises their are unconscious and societal biases and that it is everyone’s responsibility to think about and challenge those biases, especially when it occurs in a way that prevents growth. For me as a teacher, it deepens my understanding surrounding stereotypes, which enables me to remove this from the learning space and promote learning positively. My students begin with a "Yes I Can" approach, and I facilitate alongside them as an individualised support to effectively move my students into the direction of a "Yes I did" outcome.
This builds confidence in their independent learning and successful reflective approaches to their actions.
SoundVocab recognises that children have different needs, and I (Teacher Colette) understand that treating my students equally does not always involve treating them all exactly the same, due to different learning styles.
SoundVocab understands that for some pupils extra support is needed to help them to achieve and be successful.
