Data Protection
From 25 May 2018, a new EU-wide data protection law, the General Data Protection Regulation or GDPR, came into force.
The underlying principles of this law is that organisations must only collect, hold, use and share personal data if they have a lawful basis for doing so and, of course, that personal data must be kept secure.
What is new with GDPR is a greater emphasis on transparency and being able to demonstrate compliance with the law.
SoundVocab aims to ensure that all personal data collected about pupils, parents, visitors and other individuals is collected, stored and processed in accordance with the
General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 2018).
This policy applies to all personal data, regardless of whether it is in paper or electronic format.
