Equality Service Provider

  • At SoundVocab the values of Achievement, Assertiveness and Adventure underpin all interactions and relationships to ensure that everyone is treated fairly and with respect.

  • The motivational language that I use is to support the values which highlights the core principles of being Ready, Respectful and Safe. My guided language sets the standards and practices that I believe will remain inclusive and of high quality for my students learning.

  • SoundVocab recognises their are unconscious and societal biases and that it is everyone’s responsibility to think about and challenge those biases, especially when it occurs in a way that prevents growth. For me as a teacher, it deepens my understanding surrounding stereotypes, which enables me to remove this from the learning space and promote learning positively. My students begin with a "Yes I Can" approach, and I facilitate alongside them as an individualised support to effectively move my students into the direction of a "Yes I did" outcome.

  • This builds confidence in their independent learning and successful reflective approaches to their actions.

  • SoundVocab recognises that children have different needs, and I (Teacher Colette) understand that treating my students equally does not always involve treating them all exactly the same, due to different learning styles.

  • SoundVocab understands that for some pupils extra support is needed to help them to achieve and be successful.
